CD Projekt released the official improvement list for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt — Remastered, and the update now has a fixed date: September 29. The Witcher 3 Remastered will arrive as a free update on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2.
Wesley of IGN filed the report that noted the launch timing. CD Projekt says the update breaks into four categories — visual, combat, quality of life, and miscellaneous — rather than one single changes list.
CD Projekt and The Witcher 3
CD Projekt says the changes reach every part of the game, with special attention on exploration and combat mechanics. The studio said some features, including the skill tree, have been entirely rebuilt, which makes the update broader than a simple tune-up.
That scale also explains why CD Projekt framed Remastered as the first release of its kind for The Witcher 3. The company said the last major update brought the game to next-gen consoles, and this version pushes further by folding gameplay changes into the same release window as the launch.
Nintendo Switch 2 and Roach
The Nintendo Switch 2 version adds motion controls for witcher Signs, the crossbow, bombs, potions, and faster or slower movement for Roach. CD Projekt also said gyro aiming gives players greater precision in combat, while mouse mode adds another control option.
The touchscreen can be used to move through the map or game menus, and to play Gwent. For players on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2, the practical takeaway is straightforward: the free update lands at launch with new systems already folded in.

CD Projekt also said, “A lot has changed in the gaming world since The Witcher 3 first launched.” It added, “Whether this is your first time visiting the Continent or a long-awaited return to the Path, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt — Remastered was created with you in mind.”
