Ladislav Krejčí is hoping to be available for Czechia's Nations League meeting with England in Prague on Tuesday night after missing Saturday's defeat to Croatia with a calf problem.

The Wolves defender said he is on the mend after a frustrating spell that began when he returned to action following the World Cup break. Krejčí explained that he had "some minor health issues" and that he missed his last club match after overloading himself by jumping straight back into action.

He added that things are now moving in the right direction and that he feels good, which is an encouraging sign for Czechia ahead of a key Group C fixture.

Why Krejčí matters for Czechia

Czechia are in a demanding Group C alongside Spain, England and Croatia, so every fit senior player matters. Krejčí's possible return would give the national team another important option after he sat out the Croatia loss on Saturday.

The timing is also notable for Wolves. Krejčí joined the club on loan from Girona last year before completing a permanent move to Molineux this summer, and he has remained a player with a growing profile on the international stage. He was also linked with a move away in the window, but no deal materialised.

Before the Croatia match, Santi Denia praised Krejčí as an outstanding player and a role model, underlining the respect he has earned. For Czechia, the immediate question is simpler: will he be ready in time for England in Prague?

For now, Krejčí has offered a cautiously positive update. If he gets through the final build-up without issue, Czechia could regain a defender they value for one of the biggest matches in their Nations League schedule.
