Rodney Rothman On Deck
Rodney Rothman is set to direct the film from a script he wrote with Jonah Hill and Meghan Malloy. Phil Lord and Chris Miller will produce, carrying the franchise back to the pair that helmed 2012's original 21 Jump Street and its 2014 sequel. For Sony, that keeps the series inside a familiar creative lane instead of treating it like a restart.
Helldivers Moves Back
Helldivers shifted to June 9, 2028 after previously being dated for Nov. 10, 2027, while Treasure Island moved onto Nov. 11, 2027. Sony also dated The Surgeon for April 2, 2027, Narcs for Aug. 20, 2027 and Grandgear for Jan. 14, 2028 after it had first been set for Feb. 18, 2028. One studio move can look like bookkeeping; several release-date changes in the same announcement show how tightly the schedule is being managed.
