Jacob Geller was removed from MinnMax on Thursday after sexual assault allegations circulated online. MinnMax said he is no longer part of the company and said it would not publicly air that week’s episode of The MinnMax Show.
Geller, a video game YouTuber and essayist with 1.5 million subscribers on YouTube, addressed the situation in a post on BlueSky on Thursday afternoon. MinnMax also said, "He won't be on content moving forward and we won't be publicly airing this week's episode of The MinnMax Show."
X and University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill
The allegations moved into public view on Wednesday through a post circulating on X that said Geller had been fired from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill’s radio station and suspended from the school for a semester in 2016. The University of North Carolina says Title IX violations include sex discrimination, sexual harassment including sexual violence, or other forms of sexual misconduct.
A lawsuit filed in 2016 ended in 2020 after a judge ordered the school to release records of sexual assault, misconduct, and violence violations since 2007. In that archived report, Geller’s name appears on the second page as having been suspended for one semester for violating the school’s sexual assault or sexual violence policies.
Cane and Rinse and Nebula
Cane and Rinse removed all podcasts Geller had appeared on and all stories he had written, and deleted twenty-three podcast episodes. Leon Cox said the organization took that step on Thursday.
Nebula also said on BlueSky that Geller is no longer part of the channel. The company said "ongoing projects have been terminated effective immediately, and his content has been removed from our catalog."
The archived report lists a suspension for one semester, but it gives no other detail about the conduct behind that entry. That leaves the record limited to the punishment and the policy category, while the broader public claims point to 2016 and the release of records that followed the lawsuit.
For readers who followed Geller for his video essays or through MinnMax, the immediate change is simple: his current and planned content has been pulled back across multiple platforms, and the projects tied to him have been cut off at once.
