Marvel Television drops Paul Bettany in final VisionQuest trailer

Marvel television dropped one last trailer for VisionQuest, with the limited series now two weeks away from its October 14 premiere on Disney+. Paul Bettany returns as Vision, and the new footage puts his conflict with Ultron back at the center of the launch push.

Vision’s last look before October 14

The trailer is the final push before release, following the first VisionQuest trailer unveiled at D23 in August. That timing gives Marvel Studios a short runway to frame the series as the next chapter after WandaVision and Agatha All Along, not just another return to Vision’s story.

VisionQuest will complete that trilogy, and the trailer keeps the focus on what the series is selling: Vision as a man rebuilt, but not restored. Vision died in Infinity War, then WandaVision brought back an all-white version whose memories were restored in the finale. The new series leans into the gap between memory and identity instead of pretending it has already been solved.

Paul Bettany and Ultron

Paul Bettany’s Vision says, “The original Vision was a hero.” He adds, “An Avenger.” Then comes the line that gives the trailer its edge: “I have his memories, but not his virtue.” That is the cleanest setup the series has offered so far. Vision is not being framed as a simple revival; he is being written as a problem to be solved.

James Spader returns as Ultron, and the trailer gives him the bluntest possible leverage play: “Free me, and save your son.” Ultron also says he wants to “finish what I started all those years ago.” The trailer does not treat that as nostalgia. It turns Ultron into the force pressing Vision toward a choice he clearly cannot make cleanly.

Tommy and the bounty

The trailer also keeps the bounty on Vision’s head in play, with Vision on the run after escaping those who sought to weaponize him. That setup pushes the series beyond a single confrontation: he is being hunted while trying to understand the young companion tied to him through Thomas Shepard, who may be Vision’s son, reincarnate.

That is why this last trailer matters now. It does not just repeat the cast list — Todd Stashwick as Paradin, T’Nia Miller as Jocasta, Emily Hampshire as EDITH, Orla Brady as FRIDAY, James D’Arcy as JARVIS, Henry Lewis and Jonathan Sayer as DUME and U, Lauren Morais as Lisa Molinari, Diane Morgan as an associate of Paladin, Cristian Lavin as a mercenary, Mary McDonnell in an undisclosed role, and Faran Tahir back as Raza. It shows the show narrowing to a simple business of survival: Vision has to face Ultron, resist the AI voices in his own programming, and figure out what Thomas Shepard is to him before the premiere lands on October 14.
