The Manchester Half Marathon 2026 is set to take place on Sunday, October 4, with an estimated 32,000 runners lining up for the 13.1-mile race across Manchester.
That is a notable increase from last year, when about 22,500 people are understood to have taken part and raised over £1.8m for local and national charities. Since first being held in 2016, the Manchester Half has become one of the city’s biggest events, and this year’s field underlines that growth.
Race-day travel and route details
Extra Metrolink services will operate on Sunday, October 4, and public transport is being advised for travel to the start line. The route is set to pass through Old Trafford, Hulme, Deansgate Interchange, Chorlton, Sale and Sale Moor, affecting movement across several parts of the city on race day.
For runners who need replacement or international-address event packs, collection will be available at ASICS House on Saturday, October 3, between 10am and 6pm. The start line access point sits at Trafford Town Hall and Lancashire County Cricket Club, which is the key location for participants to note ahead of the race.
The event continues to support a range of charities, including Alder Hey Children's Charity, Samaritans, Mencap, the Lancashire Cricket Foundation, Mustard Tree and the British Heart Foundation.
