Ashton Dulin was listed as questionable for Sunday’s game against the Commanders, leaving the Colts with one more receiver situation to monitor after Keenan Allen was ruled out on Saturday.

Allen missed practice on Friday because of a groin injury, and the Colts later ruled him out for Sunday. That makes Dulin one of the names to watch as Indianapolis sorts through its available options at receiver for the matchup with the Commanders.

What Dulin’s status means

The question now is whether Dulin will be available when the Colts take the field on Sunday. If he is active, he becomes part of a receiver group that also includes Nick Westbrook-Ikhine, Josh Downs, Laquon Treadwell, Deion Burks and Anthony Gould. Darius Slayton is also listed as a receiver option, though he has not played since signing with the Colts last month.

That group matters more now with Allen unavailable. The Colts do not need a full overhaul at the position, but they do need enough healthy options to keep their passing game functional against the Commanders.

Why this matters for Indianapolis

Dulin’s status is especially relevant because the Colts are already dealing with a shortage of certainty at receiver. Allen’s absence removes one option from the mix, which puts more attention on the rest of the depth chart and how Indianapolis chooses to distribute snaps on Sunday.

Dulin’s availability was already a talking point after he was ruled out for Week 2 against the Chiefs, when Colts head coach Shane Steichen said he was week-to-week. Now, with another game on the schedule and another absence possible for the receiver group, the Colts are again waiting on late availability before kickoff.

The immediate answer is simple: Dulin is questionable, and the Colts will have to keep evaluating their receiver options right up until Sunday.
