Emmanuel Wilson and George Holani are next up after the Seahawks placed Jadarian Price on injured reserve Saturday because of a chest injury. Price will miss at least the next four games, forcing Seattle to reorganize its rushing attack for Sunday against the Chargers.
Price, who started each of Seattle's first three games, had 119 yards on 28 carries and played 35.8% of offensive snaps. He also lost a fumble in back-to-back outings, a stretch that left him splitting time with Wilson and Holani before the injury move.
Seattle's Saturday move
The Seahawks also signed Velus Jones from their practice squad in a corresponding move. Adam Schefter first reported Price heading to injured reserve, and the timing leaves Seattle short at running back just as the rotation was beginning to settle.
Price initially sustained the chest injury in Week 2 and aggravated it in practice this week. That sequence explains why the team moved now rather than waiting for another game-day decision.
Wilson and Holani on Sunday
Seattle will count on Wilson and Holani to lead the rushing attack on Sunday against the Chargers. The workload split is the practical detail to watch, because Seattle did not specify how the carries will be divided while Price is out.
Zach Charbonnet's return adds another layer. Seattle opened his 21-day practice window earlier this week, and he practiced in limited fashion on Thursday and Friday while he works back from a torn ACL. He rushed for 730 yards and 12 touchdowns last year, but for now the backfield belongs to Wilson and Holani.
