A man died after emergency services were called to Durley Chine Beach in Bournemouth at about 16:15 BST on Sunday. Dorset Police said the man was pronounced dead shortly afterwards on the beach close to Bournemouth Pier.
The force said officers, South Western Ambulance Service paramedics and coastguard rescue teams were called to the beach. Its spokesperson said, "Our thoughts are with the man's family and friends at this very difficult time."

Police said the death is not being treated as suspicious. That means the response was treated as a death investigation rather than a criminal inquiry, and no further public explanation has been given about what happened before the man was found on the beach.
For people at Durley Chine Beach and the stretch around Bournemouth Pier, the key fact is that the emergency call began around 16:15 BST on Sunday and ended with a fatal outcome shortly afterwards. The man’s family and friends are now left with the loss while police keep the case outside a suspicious-death path.
