Twin Atlantic have cancelled their upcoming UK tour after releasing Separation from the Animals on Friday. The decision pulls the band out of planned shows in Glasgow and Dundee later this month, with support from The Xcerts no longer taking place on that run.

Friday’s release, then a pause

“Making this record has been one of the band's greatest gifts as it brought us all back into recording studios together again after many years apart.” That return to shared recording fed straight into the album’s creation, but the band said the process also carried a cost.

“However, diving into some of the subject matter on this album and self-producing it with the intense passion that we approached it has taken a personal toll on us that we haven't experienced before.” Twin Atlantic said they were taking time to pause and cancelling their upcoming UK tour rather than pushing through the schedule.

Glasgow and Dundee dropped

The planned run included shows in Glasgow and Dundee later this month, so the cancellation reaches fans who had already set travel and ticket plans around those dates. The band said they hoped time at home and around their families, which they described as a huge source of inspiration for this chapter, would allow them to come back and make up for the cancellation at some point.

That hope is softer than a firm return plan. Twin Atlantic gave no indication of whether they will return in the future, leaving the immediate impact to fall on ticket holders and anyone expecting the live launch of the new record.

The Xcerts on refunds

“We're gutted to share that Twin Atlantic have made the tough decision to cancel their headline tour, which was due to start on the 16th.” The Xcerts said refunds are available from your point of purchase, which gives affected buyers a clear next step instead of waiting for a replacement date that has not been set.

The Xcerts also pointed to their own January and February UK headline tour, including Glasgow Art School in January and gigs in Stirling and Aberdeen. For now, though, Twin Atlantic’s immediate move is a pause, not a postponement, and that leaves the live cycle around Separation from the Animals on hold.
