Netflix renewed Hunting Wives season 2 for Season 3 before the new run has even premiered, putting the show on an unusually fast track after its July 2025 arrival. The next season is due November 26, and the move gives the series another installment before viewers have seen how the second one lands.

That pickup arrives after the show spent five total weeks in Netflix’s Global Top 10 English-language TV list and climbed as high as No. 2 in its second week. It also made the Top 10 TV list in 40 countries and reached No. 1 in 10 countries, including the U.S., with over 35 million views since release.

Maple Brook returns early

Brittany Snow and Malin Åkerman are back in the raunchy mystery drama, and casting for the eight-episode new installment is already underway. Rebecca Cutter, who wrote, executive produced and shows the series, said she is excited to return to Maple Brook and added, “I’m so stoked to be heading back to Maple Brook, and I promise that once you’ve finished Season 2, you’ll be desperate to see what happens next,” followed by, “Buckle up, because Season 3 will be even more scandalous and twisted.”

The early pickup is the clearest sign yet that Netflix sees the title as more than a one-season curiosity. The company renewed the series for a second season only after the vast majority of markets were cleared, then moved again before Season 2 could air, which is a faster commitment than the show’s rollout originally suggested.

From acquisition to original

Season 1 started as a U.S.-only acquisition of a finished first season that had been developed and produced for Starz before reverting to the studio in the network’s split from Lionsgate. That meant the first run remained an acquisition even after Netflix made it more widely available, while Season 2 onward is a Netflix original tied to a broader international setup.

Lionsgate Television and 3 Arts Entertainment are behind the series in nearly all countries where Netflix is available, with Erwin Stoff executive producing for 3 Arts Entertainment and May Cobb executive producing as the author of the bestselling novel the show is based on. That structure helps explain why the show could move from a one-off pickup to a longer runway so quickly.

The useful takeaway for viewers is simple: November 26 is no longer just a return date for Season 2, it is now the handoff point to a larger run. What casting decisions or plot details are set for the eight-episode Season 3 installment is still the open question, and that is the part worth watching once Season 2 lands.
