Travis Kelce had a simple answer for what made his 37th birthday special: the Kansas City Chiefs’ 30-27 win over the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday, October 4. A day later, on Monday, October 5, Kelce turned 37, and he said the victory was the best part of the celebration.
On Wednesday, October 7, Kelce discussed the birthday weekend on the New Heights podcast and made it clear the result mattered as much as anything else. “If I would've lost, it would've ruined my birthday, for sure,” Kelce said, tying the mood of the day directly to the Chiefs’ win.
A birthday dinner in New York
Kelce also described how he spent part of the celebration in New York with Taylor Swift. He said the evening included dinner at Torrisi, which he called one of his favorite spots in the city. “It was a fun day. Got some food out here in New York and went to one of my favorite spots, Torrisi. Got to hang with Tay,” Kelce said.
He added that the night came with plenty of attention, saying, “They brought out the entire arsenal.” In describing the experience, Kelce used the words “weird” and “nice,” reflecting a birthday that mixed a high-profile dinner with a meaningful result on the field.
The win carried real weight for Kansas City
The Chiefs’ victory did more than give Kelce a memorable birthday story. It pushed Kansas City to 4-0 heading into the bye week, a strong early-season position for a team trying to keep building momentum. For Kelce, the timing made the result even more satisfying. The birthday dinner may have been memorable, but the win was the part that made the day feel complete.
