OpenAI rolls out Gpt-6 with Intelligent UI visuals

OpenAI is rolling out GPT-6 with Intelligent UI on Wednesday, and ChatGPT responses are getting interactive visuals instead of plain text alone. The change starts with Pro, Plus, Business, and Enterprise users, then reaches Go and free users on Thursday.

Aarush Selvan, a product manager at OpenAI, said ChatGPT has predominantly been a text-based interface. He also said the company wants users to get things done with helpful answers that are not just text, which is why the rollout puts buttons, charts, editable graphs, and other controls inside the response itself.

GPT-6 and interactive visuals

OpenAI said Intelligent UI will add tappable buttons, a customized calculator for a specific task, interactive charts, editable graphs, and other elements users can work with directly. That turns some replies into tools, not just explanations, so a user can keep moving inside the same ChatGPT conversation instead of copying numbers into another app.

The company said the goal is to make learning complex topics easier. Selvan gave the example of a college student asking ChatGPT how an airplane wing generates lift, and ChatGPT quickly produced diagrams designed to show how planes stay in the air. The same visual approach was also shown for recipes, bicycle mechanics, a multi-day hiking excursion, and a personal savings calculator.

OpenAI's visual limits

The feature is customizable, and users can dial back the visuals if they do not want so many in their responses. That matters because OpenAI is pushing ChatGPT toward a more interactive interface while still leaving room for people who want a mostly text experience, which makes the default behavior a product choice rather than a fixed rule.

For Pro, Plus, Business, and Enterprise users, the practical change is immediate on Wednesday: responses may start arriving with controls and diagrams that can be tapped or edited in place. For free and Go users, Thursday is the first day they are scheduled to see the same interface. Thursday for Go users

The unanswered question is how much of ChatGPT's output will become interactive by default as the rollout widens. OpenAI has said the visuals can be reduced, but it has not said where the default line will land once GPT-6 reaches more users.
