Paul Bettany is heading into VisionQuest with a new image that puts Corvus Glaive’s glaive back in play. The Disney+ series centers on Vision trying to find his place in the world, and the photo suggests the weapon that once pierced him may now sit at the center of the story.
The image shows Vision in human form grasping an object and seemingly using it as a power source. It looks like a weapon with a blade at the top, which is why the frame has drawn attention: the object is close enough to Corvus Glaive’s weapon to suggest a direct line back to Avengers: Infinity War.
Avengers: Infinity War echoes
In Avengers: Infinity War, Corvus Glaive stabbed Vision through the chest with his glaive, and Vision later used that same weapon against Corvus during Thanos’ attack on Wakanda. Thanos then used the Time Stone to reverse time and claim the final Infinity Stone before wiping out half of life in the universe, leaving the weapon and the character’s history tied together in a way Marvel Studios can reuse without building a new plot device from scratch.
That connection matters because the series is built around Paul Bettany’s character trying to understand where he fits, and Vision has never had a clean relationship with humanity or its choices. A prop that looks like Corvus Glaive’s glaive gives the show a visual shortcut to Vision’s past while keeping the story rooted in one object rather than a long exposition dump.
Corvus Glaive returns?
Corvus Glaive was killed in Avengers: Infinity War and again in Avengers: Endgame, so his presence in VisionQuest is either a revival in some form or a residue carried through the weapon itself. The article’s own read is that Corvus Glaive is back in VisionQuest, or at least part of him is, which fits the comics idea that he can regenerate as long as his glaive remains intact.
Marvel Studios is using new clips and images to build pressure around the series, and this one does more than tease a fight scene. It points to a continuity link that could tie Vision’s present to the moment he lost his life at Thanos’ hands, which is the kind of callback that tells viewers the series is not treating his past as decoration.
VisionQuest and Tommy Maximoff
Marvel Television’s final trailer already has Paul Bettany front and center, and the new image pushes the same idea: Vision’s story is still being framed around identity, memory, and whatever survives after death. With Tommy Maximoff described as Vision’s son and threats like Paladin and Ultron in the mix, the glaive image reads as a signal that the show is reaching back to the original wound instead of inventing a new one.
The safest read is that Marvel Studios wants viewers to expect more than a decorative reference. Whether the object in the promo image is definitely Corvus Glaive’s glaive, and how it will be used in VisionQuest, is the part that still carries the most weight — because if the weapon really is active again, then Vision’s past is not coming back as a memory, but as a working piece of the story.
