Two MLB baby books: Yankees and Dodgers headline Mlb Tonight announcement

Jimmy Fallon has built a children’s-book lane that sits neatly beside his late-night job, and his latest move pushes that crossover a little further. On Monday night’s The Tonight Show, Fallon announced that he is partnering with MLB on two new 32-page books: Your Baby’s First Word Will Be Yankees and Your Baby’s First Word Will Be Dodgers.

The release date is set for February 2, 2027, with pre-orders already open. Fallon said he has been working on the project for a while, and the setup fits the familiar joke behind his book series: parents may spend months trying to get a baby to say “Mama” or “Dada,” but “some parents dream bigger.”

A familiar Fallon formula, now with MLB attached

The new titles extend a children’s-book bibliography that already includes Your Baby’s First Word Will Be DADA, which Fallon released in 2015, along with Everything Is MAMA, This Is BABY, NANA Loves You More, PAPA Doesn’t Do Anything! (But Love You), 5 More Sleeps ’til Christmas, 5 More Sleeps ’til Halloween and Con Pollo. The MLB partnership gives that line a more specific sports identity, while keeping the same playful parent-and-baby premise that made the earlier books work.

It also lands at a timely moment for both teams involved. The Yankees and Dodgers are each competing in the 2026 MLB postseason, which gives the books a little extra current relevance even though the publication date is still more than a year away. That overlap is part of the appeal here: the project is not just a novelty announcement, but another example of how Fallon keeps folding sports, comedy and family-friendly publishing into the same brand.

For now, the practical details are straightforward. There are two books, both 32 pages, both due on February 2, 2027, and both already available for pre-order. The larger takeaway is just as simple: Fallon’s late-night persona still has room for another MLB-themed side project, and this one is built for parents who want their baby’s first word to sound a little more like October.
