Riyadh Air opens Jakarta sales for 16 November 2026 launch

Riyadh Air has opened ticket sales for a new nonstop service between Riyadh and Jakarta, with flights set to begin on 16 November 2026. The route will run three times a week and adds Jakarta as the airline’s 16th destination.

Tony Douglas said, “Opening ticket sales for Jakarta marks another important milestone in Riyadh Air’s rapid expansion across Asia and the continued growth of our global network.” He added that the direct link will support business, tourism and religious travel while giving guests from Indonesia access to the Kingdom and Riyadh Air’s network beyond Riyadh.

Douglas also said, “This new direct connection between Riyadh and Jakarta will strengthen the ties between two important G20 nations, supporting growing business, tourism and religious travel while providing guests from Indonesia with seamless access to the Kingdom and our expanding network beyond Riyadh.” Riyadh Air said the service will use Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners.

That puts the route squarely in the airline’s long-haul push. It is a capital-to-capital link, and the addition matters because the carrier is selling seats now for a service that does not start until 16 November 2026.

Douglas said, “We look forward to welcoming guests on board our state-of-the-art Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners and delivering the exceptional, digitally led experience and authentic Saudi hospitality that define Riyadh Air.” The first purple Riyadh Air Boeing 787-9 has emerged from the paint shop at Boeing’s facility in Charleston, South Carolina, USA.

Riyadh Air expects every tenth aircraft in its fleet to feature the indigo livery. The airline said it has more aircraft on the way shortly, which leaves the new Jakarta service as part of an expansion that is already tied to the next aircraft arrivals rather than the current fleet alone.

Riyadh Air’s network

The practical takeaway for travelers is simple: booking is open through Riyadh Air’s usual sales channels, but the operation itself starts later, with three weekly flights beginning on 16 November 2026. For passengers planning travel between Saudi Arabia and Indonesia, Jakarta now sits inside Riyadh Air’s long-haul map as a scheduled nonstop option rather than a future plan.
