Bijan Robinson has done more than flash in prime time. The Atlanta Falcons running back now owns the NFL’s all-time lead in yards per game in Monday Night Football and other prime-time telecasts dating to 1970, a mark that sits at 145.4 yards per game across 12 games.
That production was on display again against the New Orleans Saints on Oct. 5, 2026. Robinson opened the game with a 59-yard touchdown run 90 seconds into the contest and finished with 145 total yards, another reminder that his biggest stages often turn into his most productive ones.
A record built on sustained efficiency
The most striking part of Robinson’s prime-time profile is not just the total yardage, but the pace. Averaging 145.4 yards per game over 12 prime-time appearances puts him in a category that is difficult to reach and even harder to sustain.
He is also still early in his career at 24 years old, which matters when looking at what this record could become if his usage and production hold. For the Falcons, that gives them a running back who has already shown he can carry an offense when the spotlight is brightest.
From Tucson dominance to NFL spotlight
Robinson’s current success also fits a pattern that has followed him for years. In September 2019, while at Tucson High, he ran for touchdowns of 47 yards, 60 yards, 50 yards and 92 yards, finishing with 282 yards on eight carries. That kind of burst was obvious long before he reached the NFL.
Michael Bates, another Tucson prep football great, said Robinson “makes it look so easy” and added, “It’s like there’s no stress on his body. He's effortless. He was the same way at Salpointe. I thought he had NFL skills when I saw him then.”
That local comparison still resonates because Robinson’s game has always looked smooth, even when the results are enormous. Now, with a prime-time record and another explosive outing against the Saints, the production has matched the reputation.
What it means going forward
The biggest takeaway from Bijan Robinson stats like these is simple: he is not just putting up numbers in ordinary games. He is producing elite results on national stages, and that gives the Falcons a reliable centerpiece whenever the schedule puts them in the league’s biggest windows.
If he keeps this pace, the record he already owns could become even more difficult to catch.
