Apple announced Apple HomeView as part of Apple Home Collection in Cupertino, California, and the new smart home accessories are designed to work through Apple Home. The lineup starts with indoor cameras, outdoor cameras, thermostats, temperature sensors, a video doorbell, and a door lock. Apple says setup begins with one tap on iPhone.
Matthew Costello on Apple HomeView
Matthew Costello, Apple’s vice president of Hardware Engineering, said, "Apple Home Collection makes it easy to choose smart home accessories with confidence". He tied the launch to Apple Home, where each accessory is managed in the app, controlled with Siri, and encrypted end-to-end. That gives buyers a clearer path than juggling separate apps and separate accounts for each device.
LG Electronics and Schneider Electric
Apple said the lineup was designed in collaboration with LG Electronics and Schneider Electric. Kihyun Jung said, "Working closely with Apple, we’ve co-created a more connected, intuitive, and convenient home experience for our customers." Olivier Blum said, "Schneider Home’s new Smart Thermostat is a true collaboration with Apple to give customers a seamless way to help manage their home’s energy use, effortlessly blending efficiency with everyday comfort and simplicity."
The practical detail is that Apple Home Collection products can work as standalone accessories or as a connected system. That matters for buyers who want to start with one device and add others later without changing control methods. Apple also said the lineup builds on the thousands of Works with Apple Home and Matter accessories already in use.
December and early 2027
Availability for all products begins in December, but select accessories will not arrive until early 2027. That split rollout leaves the biggest open question for customers: which specific accessories are delayed. For anyone planning a home upgrade around Apple Home, the announcement is useful now, but the purchase decision still depends on the missing product-by-product timing.
