Google launches Gemini 4 Argoon at $2 per million input tokens

Google made Gemini 4 Argoon globally available today for developers and enterprises through the API in AI Studio and Gemini platform, and the model starts at $2 per million input tokens. For some paid users, that means the same frontier model is now inside products they already use, but access is split by product and subscription tier.

Google DeepMind said, “We’re giving developers, enterprises, scientists, and consumers access to our latest frontier model.” The opening price is $10 per million output tokens, and cached input tokens are 95% off, which changes the economics for workloads that reuse prompts or long context. Argon also ranks number one on the Vals Index.

Google DeepMind on Argon

Google DeepMind said Argon excels at deep work in complex, real-world tasks across coding, finance, legal, cybersecurity, and science. That wording points to the model’s intended use in multi-step work rather than short chatbot replies, and it is reinforced by the claim that Argon answers more directly, repeats itself less, and skips clichés.

The same rollout also puts Argon in Google Antigravity for Google AI Ultra subscribers, and in the Gemini app and AI Mode in Search for Google AI Ultra and Pro subscribers. In other words, the model is globally available, but access is still limited to developers, enterprises, and paid subscribers in certain Google products.

Antigravity and direct gains

Google Rolls Out Gemini 4 Argon to Antigravity Defenders says Argon in Antigravity helped teams increase agentic code submissions by more than 35% while reducing code rollbacks by nearly a third. That is the clearest sign in the brief that the model is being pushed as a coding and workflow tool, not just a general assistant.

Google also said Argon built a highly detailed model of a Pagoda using multi-agent visual critique loops in Antigravity, turned pictures of a real desk into a playable miniature racing game, wrote Python scripts to procedurally sculpt, rig, animate, and PBR-bake a complex 3D game, and built its own 3D ray-tracing engine with a custom video tool and audio mixer using zero external libraries and 100% pure Python. Those examples suggest the launch is aimed at users who need one model to plan, write, and revise across code, visuals, and simulation tasks.

Pricing and access tiers

The practical divide is simple. Developers and enterprises can use the API in AI Studio and Gemini platform today. Google AI Ultra subscribers can use Google Antigravity. Google AI Ultra and Pro subscribers can use the Gemini app and AI Mode in Search.

For anyone trying to budget usage, the open question is not whether Argon is live. The question is how far the introductory pricing lasts, because Google has only set the starting rate and the access tiers, not a longer-term price schedule.
