The offer is simple enough, but the appeal is hard to miss: a $5 first bet for new users can unlock a special NBA League Pass promo code, and with it comes 3 months of NBA League Pass plus $200 in bonus bets. In a market where every promotion seems to be trying to outdo the last one, this one at least has the virtue of being easy to understand.
For anyone unfamiliar with NBA League Pass, it is the subscription service for live and on-demand basketball games, including out-of-market games. That matters, because the promotion is not just dangling bonus bets and hoping the rest sorts itself out. It is pairing a sportsbook offer with a product basketball fans can actually use.
How the DraftKings offer works
This is a DraftKings sign-up promotion for new users. The process is straightforward: place a $5 first bet, and within 72 hours the special NBA League Pass promo code is emailed. After sign-up with the DraftKings promo code, users can get 3 months of NBA League Pass and $200 in bonus bets.
That structure is the key selling point. The wager requirement is tiny, the streaming benefit is immediate, and the bonus bet value is substantial enough to make the promotion stand out. It is not pretending to be something it is not. It is a clear exchange, and that clarity is part of the appeal.
The expiry date gives it urgency
There is also a very firm deadline: the NBA League Pass promo code expires on 12/19. That adds a little pressure, and in promotional terms, pressure is the point. If the offer is going to land, it has to feel time-sensitive, and this one does exactly that.
The other detail worth noting is the bonus split. The $200 in bonus bets comes as eight $25 bonus bets, which gives the offer a bit more structure than a lump-sum headline number. Again, it is practical, not flashy for the sake of it.
So, if the question is whether the promotion is worth paying attention to, the answer is yes. A $5 first bet is a low bar, 3 months of NBA League Pass is a meaningful perk, and $200 in bonus bets is enough to make the whole thing more than a throwaway freebie. For new users, this is one of those offers that actually has some bite.
