Apple Lists Smart Folio for A3632 Ahead of Ipad Mini 8

Apple’s French regulatory website listed a Smart Folio for iPad mini with model number A3632. The listing points to Ipad Mini 8-related accessory planning before any public launch. Owners and buyers now have a concrete reason to watch case compatibility, because the current and next iPad mini generations have shared the same Smart Folio.

Marcus Mendes spots A3632

Marcus Mendes reported the listing after MacRumors spotted it. The dated filing is September 8, 2026, and A3632 does not match any existing product. That makes the accessory the clearest public signal that Apple has paperwork in motion for an unreleased iPad mini companion.

The current Smart Folio for iPad mini (6th generation) carries a regulatory document dated December 22, 2022. Apple’s French page now shows a different model number and a different compliance filing. That gap matters for buyers who reuse cases across generations, because the sixth- and seventh-generation iPad mini models use the same Smart Folio today.

Apple’s accessory numbers shift

The new Smart Folio contains at least 3% recycled materials. The earlier version contains a minimum of 9% recycled materials. The new accessory also contains at least 6,610 milligrams of rare earth elements, compared with 3,947 milligrams in the previous version. Those material changes do not explain the design, but they do show Apple has changed the bill of materials in a way that could track internal magnet or component revisions.

The listing also fits the broader rumor set around an OLED iPad mini with Apple’s A20 Pro chip, thinner bezels, a relocated front-facing camera, and a redesigned speaker system. has reported that Apple is working on a more water-resistant design. Recent rumors also suggest the device could cost considerably more than its predecessor.

OLED iPad mini refresh rate

The sharpest open question is whether the next iPad mini keeps 60Hz or gets 120Hz ProMotion. yeux1122 recently reiterated that the device will be limited to a 60Hz OLED display, while Mark Gurman said Apple has tested both a 60Hz option and a 120Hz option. Until Apple settles that choice, the A3632 filing is a useful clue, but not a complete map of what buyers will actually get.
