The Dallas Stars and Chicago Blackhawks released their projected lineups for their October 17 game, giving a clearer look at who is available and who is not for the matchup. The lineup sheet also arrives at a notable time for the Stars, who signed David Perron to a one-year contract on Friday.
Stars get a lineup update with Perron on the way
Glen Gulutzan said Perron will join the team in Dallas on Monday, so the veteran forward was not part of the projected group for this game. That means the Stars are moving forward with their current forward mix for now, while also keeping an eye on a player who is expected to arrive soon.
The projected Stars lineup includes Jason Robertson, Roope Hintz, Jamie Benn, Justin Hryckowian, Sam Steel, Mikko Rantanen, Wyatt Johnston, Arttu Hyry, Tyler Seguin, Joel Kiviranta, Radek Faksa and Colin Blackwell. On the blue line, Kyle Capobianco is listed with the group as well. Johnston had missed two games because of an illness before rejoining the team, while Johnston’s return gives Dallas another option in the top part of the lineup.
Blackhawks dealing with multiple absences
For Chicago, the projected lineup features Connor Bedard, Patrick Kane, Tyler Bertuzzi, Anton Frondell, Teuvo Teravainen, Oliver Moore, Frank Nazar, Ryan Donato, Cole Smith, Ryan Greene and Jordan Greenway. Kevin Korchinski and Dominic Toninato are also part of the projected group.
The Blackhawks are missing Bowen Byram, who was described as day to day and set to miss his second straight game. That is a noticeable absence on a lineup sheet that already shows how teams have to adjust quickly from one night to the next in the NHL.
Back on the Dallas side, Oskar Back has been placed on injured reserve, which further shapes the Stars’ available options. With Perron still scheduled to arrive Monday and several regulars either unavailable or working back into the mix, the projected lineups offer a straightforward snapshot of where both teams stand entering the game.
