The Giants do not have to reinvent their offense for Giants Game Sunday, but they do have to adjust where it matters most up front. Jermaine Eluemunor will not play against the New Orleans Saints because of a calf injury suffered last Sunday against the Washington Commanders, and that changes the look of the offensive line in a meaningful way.
The likely answer at right tackle is Marcus Mbow, with J.C. Davis stepping into the swing tackle role. That is not a small development for a team trying to manage a Sunday game with enough stability to keep the rest of the plan intact. When a starting tackle comes out, the ripple effect is usually bigger than the injury report makes it sound.
Who is available for Sunday
There is good news for the Giants on two other fronts. Andrew Thomas and Abdul Carter, who were held out of practices on Wednesday and Thursday, will play against the Saints. That gives the Giants two important pieces back in the lineup and helps offset the loss of Eluemunor, even if the line still looks different than it would have at full strength.
The defensive line picture also changes. The Giants are activating Bobby Jamison-Travis for the first time and making C.J. Okoye inactive. It is a reminder that roster decisions at this point in the week are often about fit as much as they are about injury status.
Elsewhere, the note on Tyler Shough is worth keeping in mind. He has reportedly been playing with two broken bones in his left hand, which adds another layer to the health questions surrounding the week. But for the Giants, the more immediate issue is simple: protect the edge, settle the lineup, and make sure the loss of Eluemunor does not become the defining problem of Sunday.
