Marvel Studios has shown the clearest look yet at Kelsey Grammer’s Beast in Avengers: Doomsday, and the design points away from the gentler version seen in The Marvels. The new Hot Toys figure puts the character bare-chested, with dark blue pants, yellow trim, and a yellow belt with the X-Men logo on the buckle.
Hot Toys Shows Beast Bare-Chested
The figure matters because it gives the first detailed read on how Beast will look in Avengers: Doomsday before the film arrives. Hot Toys usually translates studio-approved character designs into collectible form, so this version is the cleanest public signal yet that Beast is being presented as more aggressive than the one who appeared in The Marvels.
That contrast is not small. In The Marvels, Monica Rambeau woke in a hospital bed while Beast appeared at her bedside in a lab coat and glasses, a calmer image that tied the character to a very different tone. Here, the exposed torso and darker styling make him read less like a doctor-like visitor and more like a combat-ready figure.
The Marvels Setup Shifts
The Marvels ended with Monica Rambeau sacrificing herself to seal a tear in space-time after she, Carol Danvers, and Kamala Khan defeated Dar-Benn. Its post-credits scene then sent Monica into an alternate universe, where Maria Rambeau was alive and operating as Binary in a red and white costume.
That earlier scene also linked Beast to the Fox X-Men continuity, with music cues from X2 and X-Men: Days of Future Past reinforcing the connection. Avengers: Endgame Encore later added another multiverse marker when Mobius, Ouroboros, and Casey watched Earth-10005 on the brink of an incursion with Earth-1127, and Ouroboros said, "The multiverse is collapsing."
Avengers: Doomsday Changes the Read
The Doomsday version looks far more feral and aggressive than the gentle Beast from The Marvels, which makes the continuity feel less like a direct pickup and more like a new lane. Marvel Studios may be separating the two portrayals rather than treating the post-credits scene as a simple bridge.
Teyonah Parris, Brie Larson, and Iman Vellani were left out of Avengers: Doomsday, and that omission narrows the chances of a full follow-through on Monica’s setup. If Monica is the one who anchored that scene, leaving her out puts the burden on the film to explain whether Beast in Avengers: Doomsday comes from the same universe or from a different branch entirely.
For readers tracking the multiverse thread, the useful takeaway is straightforward: the new figure suggests a reset in tone, not just a costume tweak. Avengers: Doomsday now has to answer whether this Beast is the same one Monica met in The Marvels, or a version built to move the story somewhere else.
