Meghan Markle’s UK move priorities have shifted from settling Archie and Lilibet into school to getting back to work, after the family’s move back to the U.K. last month. She shared a video over the weekend of the children walking with their school backpacks, a small domestic detail that matches a bigger change in how the family is spending its week.
Archie and Lilibet in school
A source told People that the children have adjusted well, and that their comfort was Meghan and Prince Harry’s top priority in the weeks after they arrived in England. “The kids have adjusted well, and that’s the most important thing to her,” the source said. “After they first arrived in England, their focus was on establishing a routine and getting the kids settled into school.”
“Now they’re both excited to focus more on their work and the projects that matter to them,” the source added. “During the week, while the kids are in school, they’re working.” That leaves the couple with a split routine: weekdays built around work, weekends reserved for family time. “They’re enjoying family weekends together.”
Nottingham this week
The Times reported that Meghan and Harry are expected to visit Nottingham on Thursday, where they will see projects at three charities that support young people and local communities through music, film, sport and tackling food poverty. A friend of the couple said, “Nottingham is a really special place for them, and they are looking forward to getting back out there into the community, together.”
That visit fits the pattern they set in August, when their rep said, “On the heels of a wonderful trip with family and friends this summer, Harry and Meghan have decided to spend an extended period in the U.K. this autumn.” The same statement said, “They are excited to have their children spend more time in the country that’s such an important part of their family’s story.”
As Ever and patronages
The Times also reported that Meghan is working on As Ever and planning to resume collaborating with some of her charities and patronages from her time as a working royal. Those included The Association of Commonwealth Universities, Smart Works, The National Theatre and The Mayhew, a portfolio that suggests the move is not just about residence but about rebuilding a working rhythm around school hours and travel.
Multiple friends said Harry and Meghan are happy and settled with their children in the Cotswolds, where they are renting a home, but the couple has not decided on their long-term plans. For now, the clearest read is practical: school days have created working days, and the move has given Meghan room to push projects forward while the family stays centered on the children’s routine.
