América de Cali announced a 20-player squad for Sunday’s away match against Atlético Bucaramanga, a key date in the second semester of Liga Colombiana 2026 as the team tries to stay near the top of the table.
The match will be played at the Estadio Américo Montanini in Bucaramanga, where América will face a direct rival for first place. Atlético Bucaramanga arrives undefeated, while Deportivo Cali and Atlético Nacional are also in that conversation at the top of the tournament.
The squad list for Bucaramanga
Head coach David González included 20 players for fecha 15. The call-up features Mateo Castillo, Jean Fernandes, Juan Montoya, Marlon Torres, Marcos Mina, Nicolás Hernández, Omar Bertel, Brayan Córdoba, Josen Escobar, Rafael Carrascal, Yani Quintero, Camilo Amú, Johan Molina, Yeison Guzmán, Jhon Murillo, Daniel Valencia, Jan Lucumí, Tomás Ángel, Luis Quiñones and Will David.
One of the notable points from the list is the absence of Edson Tortolero and Tilman Palacios, which leaves América with a specific group of options for a demanding away match. The team is coming off a loss to Deportivo Independiente Medellín in the previous round, so the trip to Bucaramanga gives it an immediate chance to respond.
What González said before the match
González said the team is aware of what it has to do in Bucaramanga. He also noted that América worked through what happened in the previous match against Deportivo Independiente Medellín, saying that beyond the red card there were other behaviors that needed attention. Even so, he said the group prepared in the best way possible to face a strong team and hoped América could show the level it has usually produced.
For América de Cali, the game is about more than just three points. It is a chance to recover form, stay in the race near the top, and test itself against one of the league’s most difficult opponents in a stadium that will demand focus from the opening whistle.
