Kim Jong-un coma rumours spread over the weekend after claims on X said North Korea's leader suffered a severe cerebral haemorrhage, fell into a coma and died. The claims also said his body was secretly returned to North Korea, but there were no concrete pieces of evidence to support any of it.
The most detailed version came from Wanjun Xie, who posted on X that: "It is rumored that recently, Kim Jong-un, General Secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and Supreme Leader of North Korea, suffered a severe cerebral hemorrhage and fell into a coma." Wanjun Xie later added: "However, due to the severity of his condition and the fact that the optimal window for treatment had passed, Kim Jong-un succumbed to his injuries and died."

Wanjun Xie also claimed: "His body has been secretly transported back to North Korea, and the news of his death is being kept under wraps." In another post, Wanjun Xie wrote: "Rumours circulate that Kim Jong-un has died, thwarting Kim Ju-ae's succession plans and potentially plunging North Korea into civil war." Wanjun Xie further claimed that 9,000 troops had been dispatched to Pyongyang and that the Northern Theater Command of the Chinese People's Liberation Army had entered a state of high alert.
Those assertions traveled quickly because Kim Jong-un had last appeared in public on October 13, when he opened the National Defence Revolution Museum under the Second Economy Commission of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea. That appearance gave the weekend rumours a fixed point in the timeline, even as the claims themselves remained unsupported by evidence in the material available.
Ji Seong-ho Claims
Another account on X said the rumours came from Ji Seong-ho. The Daily Star found no trace of any interview with Ji Seong-ho, said he had not spoken to the media for several years, and said he had stopped using his own YouTube channel two years ago.
North Korea's main news site, PyongYang times, had no updates at the time described in the article. South Korean spies had also warned that Kim Jong-un was at risk of dying of a heart attack because of his size, but the weekend claims went further, adding coma and death to a story that still had no concrete evidence behind it. For now, the only verified marker is the October 13 public appearance; everything else in the rumour chain remains allegation, not fact.
