Capita postpones Capital Market Event for Civil Service Pension Contract

Capita postponed its Capital Market Event planned for 4th November, saying it is focusing on improving service delivery on the civil service pension contract. The company said members of the Civil Service Pension Scheme will see continued work on that contract while it prepares a later update.

The postponed event was due to be followed by a comprehensive update in December. Capita said that December update will come alongside its regular trading update and will include detail on the Group’s new operational segments.

Capita and the Civil Service Pension Scheme

Capita said it continues to make good operational progress with the Civil Service Pension Scheme contract. That progress includes the roll out of new features and further planned upgrades, with the retirement modelling tool due to go live in the coming weeks.

The company also said further improvement in service is required. Its response includes further automation, stronger governance and better management information, all aimed at the same contract rather than a wider business reset.

Cabinet Office recovery plan

Capita said it is working with the Cabinet Office on a comprehensive recovery plan focused on improving member experience and delivering operational stability. The plan appears to sit between day-to-day fixes and the wider business changes Capita is preparing for December.

That combination leaves the Civil Service Pension Scheme contract as the immediate priority. For members, the practical takeaway is straightforward: Capita has pushed back the investor presentation to concentrate on service work first, then it will return to a broader update in December.
