Burger King Hello Kitty is now on the menu: the Hello Kitty and Friends King Jr. Kids' Meal began rolling out nationwide on October 20, 2026. The limited-time promotion gives families a meal built around six collectible toys, with a rare golden Hello Kitty figure chasing the most attention.

Joel Yashinsky, the chain’s Chief Marketing Officer for U.S. and Canada, put it plainly: “We're excited to deliver another fun and engaging King Jr. Meal - this time with the one and only Hello Kitty!” He also said, “To celebrate our partnership, a limited number of golden Hello Kitty toys will be included in our six-toy lineup.”

Each King Jr. Kids' Meal comes with one of six exclusive Hello Kitty and Friends by Sanrio toys inside a mystery blind box, plus a choice of a 4- or 6-piece chicken nuggets, hamburger or cheeseburger, fries or applesauce, and a drink. The meal is packaged in a Hello Kitty and Friends-themed King Jr. Meal bag and comes with an exclusive Hello Kitty crown while supplies last, which makes the promotion feel less like a simple kids’ meal drop and more like a collector-facing release.

Sanrio crowns meet BK packaging

The toy lineup includes Hello Kitty, My Melody, Kuromi, Cinnamoroll and Keroppi, along with figurines that feature Burger King crowns and fan-favorite BK items. Jill Koch, Chief Brand Officer at Sanrio, said, “We love seeing Hello Kitty and Friends get the royal treatment at Burger King, with each character sporting their own iconic BK crown” and added, “Bringing these beloved characters into the King Jr. Kids' Meal in such a playful way creates something special for fans of all ages to enjoy.”

The blind-box format gives Burger King a built-in repeat-purchase mechanic: buyers know the lineup, but not the figure inside each box. That is also where the promotion’s sharpest twist sits. The golden Hello Kitty toy can unlock a complete set of all six figurines at participating restaurants while supplies last, but the release does not say how many golden toys are being distributed.

Downey claw machine on Friday

Burger King is also staging a one-day Golden Claw Machine experience at the Burger King location at 10014 Paramount Blvd. in Downey, CA, starting Friday, October 23 at 11 a.m. PST. Guests who purchase a King Jr Meal can try the customized Golden Claw Machine for a chance to grab a Hello Kitty toy, and one lucky guest could win a one-of-one, 14K gold-plated Hello Kitty figurine.

Guests who want to participate without a purchase must see the official rules posted at the restaurant for details. For families buying the meal, the practical takeaway is simple: the toy lineup is already live, the rare figure is limited, and the in-person claw machine window opens only for one day at the Downey location.
