Sahara Ray Dies at 34 as Family Shares Hospital Tribute — Sahara Ray Australian Model Passes

Sahara Ray Australian model passes at 34, ending the life of a figure whose modelling work and swimwear brand built a large public profile. Her family said she died last night at the hospital surrounded by family.

Her family said she was so loved. Ray had 900,000 followers on Instagram and used the platform to promote Sahara Ray Swim, which kept her name visible well beyond the modelling lane.

Instagram, Snow and April

Back in April, Ray shared a video of her playing with her daughter Snow while Bieber's song Everything Hallelujah played in the background. It was the kind of post that showed her public feed was not just brand promotion; it was also a record of her life as a mother.

She was also once photographed skinny dipping with Justin Beiber, a moment that widened the audience around her profile. That sort of visibility can turn a model into a recognisable social-media figure, and Ray had already crossed that line.

Guillain-Barré syndrome and April 8

Two years ago, Ray said she was battling Guillain-Barré syndrome and that it left her partially paralysed after a car crash. She said her body was hit by a drunk driver at around 80mph on April 8, and that the disorder left her paralysed from the upper thighs down.

She described the illness in blunt terms: “My whole life changed in an instant” and “It basically sent my body into shock which sent my body into this crazy sickness.” She also said, “I got really really sick for like a week and a half to two weeks. During that time I barely ate any food because I couldn’t keep it down and my body got really weak.”

Tony Ray and the unanswered cause

Ray was the daughter of Tony Ray, and her upbringing moved between Australia, California and Hawaii. The family tribute did not name a cause of death, and that gap leaves the central medical question open even as the personal loss is immediate.

“She passed away last night surrounded by family at the hospital. She was so loved,” her family said. The next hard fact anyone will want is the cause, and until that is identified, her death stands as a sudden end to a public life that was still active online and still tied to Snow, Sahara Ray Swim and a sizable Instagram following.
