Fanatics gets a new lane into NBA Opening Night as Kalshi pushes the AL55 code: new users can unlock a $55 bonus after trading $25 on Sixers vs. Knicks. The offer folds a live NBA game into a prediction-market sign-up, with the opening tip set for 6 p.m. ET.
AL55 and the $25 trade
The setup is simple. A qualifying new user has to complete verification, open an account, and make at least $25 in eligible event-contract trades within seven days to receive the $55 bonus. That makes the promotion a $30 net gain before fees, assuming the user meets the trading threshold and gets the bonus as advertised.
Kalshi prices range from $0.01 to $0.99, so the $25 minimum is enough to buy multiple contracts rather than forcing a single large position. At $0.63, a Knicks winner contract would return $1.00 if New York beats Philadelphia, leaving a $0.37 profit before fees on that contract alone.
Sixers vs. Knicks market
The market is not treating this as a blowout. The Knicks carry a 62% market-implied probability, while the 76ers sit at 39%, and New York is also priced at 48% to win by more than 5.5 points. Over 230.5 points is trading at 53%, which points to a game that market participants still see as fairly tight rather than one-sided.
Last season, the Sixers and Knicks split their series 2-2, and the road team won every game. That history fits the current pricing: the favorite has the edge, but not enough of one to close off the other side. For a trader, that means the promo is attached to a market where the outcome is still live, not a foregone conclusion.
CFTC and California access
Kalshi is a sports prediction market, not a sportsbook, and it is legal and regulated as a Designated Contract Market by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission. Because of that structure, it is available across most of the nation, including California, where a user can sign up with the CA promo code and trade on NBA Opening Night and the NBA all season long.
That setup matters for anyone deciding whether the AL55 offer is worth using: the barrier is not a betting app restriction, but whether the user is willing to trade through the verification process and reach the $25 minimum within seven days. The immediate play is clear enough. Qualifying new users who want the bonus need to act before the game moves on without them.
