Apple posted iOS 27.2 release candidate build 24B115 on Monday. The update is close to public release, but the release listing still does not give an exact date.
That matters for people testing iOS 27.2 because this build is meant to be near final. It can still be replaced before the public rollout, so this is the point where testers should watch behavior closely rather than assume the software will ship unchanged.
Messages, TV, and Podcasts
Seven Apple apps change in this build, including Messages, Apple TV, FaceTime, Home, Apple Podcasts, Games, and Apple Music. Messages Suggested Actions now appears under relevant messages and can offer to create a calendar event, set a reminder, or add a note.
The Messages feature can be disabled, and it now includes a setting to fine-tune which suggestion types appear. It first showed up in the iOS 27 beta cycle over the summer, then disappeared before that public release, so users testing iOS 27.2 are seeing a feature Apple had already tried and pulled back once.
FaceTime and HomeKit
Opening Apple TV after updating brings up a new profile-selection screen that separates viewing history and recommendations between household members. Apple Podcasts also splits Up Next on the Home tab into New Episodes and Continue Playing, so listeners can separate fresh episodes from the ones they already started.
Group FaceTime calls now support Dual Capture, which streams the front and rear camera at once. HomeKit owners with a compatible smart lock also get Lock After Closing and Door Left Open, but the reporting does not identify which lock models support those automations.
Games and Apple Music
The Games app now surfaces recently downloaded titles that have not been played yet on the Home tab, and its achievement and leaderboard tracking is reorganized to be easier to follow. Apple Music gets a black-and-white app icon, and blue now marks the active tab, which gives the app a different visual hierarchy without changing how playback works.
The unfinished part is still the same one Apple has left open throughout the beta cycle: the exact public-release date for iOS 27.2. If Apple does not swap out 24B115, this RC is the build testers are closest to shipping software, but Apple has not said when everyone else gets it.
