Purdue basketball continues its three-game exhibition schedule Thursday night with a trip to Fort Wayne, where the Boilermakers will face Purdue Fort Wayne at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. ET on Oct. 22, 2026.
The game gives Purdue its first road exhibition of the 2026-27 season. It also comes four days after the Boilermakers opened the preseason with an 87-55 win over Ball State on Sunday, a result that gave them a 1-0 start in exhibition play.
What comes next for Purdue
After Thursday’s game, Purdue will have one more exhibition before the regular season begins. The Boilermakers are scheduled to play No. 4-ranked Connecticut on Monday, Oct. 27, 2026, at PeoplesBank Arena in Hartford, Connecticut. Their season opener is then set for Sunday, Nov. 2, 2026, against No. 15-ranked Gonzaga in Las Vegas.
This is also a familiar matchup on Purdue’s schedule. The Boilermakers last played Purdue Fort Wayne on Dec. 8, 2014, and they own a 6-0 all-time regular-season record against the Mastodons. Purdue enters Thursday’s game at 0-0 overall and 0-0 in Big Ten play as the exhibition tune-up continues.
The night will also add another game to a season that already has some added attention around Purdue. The Boilermakers ended a 79-week run in the preseason Top 25 poll, but the bigger focus now is on getting through the exhibition schedule and into the 2026-27 season ready for the stretch ahead.
