Motorola Rolls Out Android 17 to Razr 60 Ultra — Android Devices Showing January 2027 Update

Motorola has started the Android 17 rollout on the Razr 60 Ultra, and ibejerdan says an unlocked unit installed it overnight. For Android devices showing January 2027 update, that means the update is already moving beyond theory and onto at least one phone in daily use.

The firmware on that phone was A171VLH.48-18-7. Motorola’s changelog promises a fresh, expressive design, improved multitasking capabilities, smarter notifications to reduce clutter, and enhanced security controls.

Razr Ultra 2025 and Motorola Edge 60

The Razr Ultra 2025 is the same device as the Razr 60 Ultra in other markets, so this rollout is not limited to one naming convention. Motorola Signature, the Razr Ultra 2026, the Razr 70 Ultra, and some Motorola Edge 60 phones have also received Android 17, which puts the Razr 60 Ultra inside a wider push rather than a one-off test.

ibejerdan and the overnight install

ibejerdan’s unlocked Razr 60 Ultra downloaded and installed the update automatically overnight. That matters for owners who expect a staged rollout to arrive without intervention, because the phone can move from old software to Android 17 while the user is asleep.

The same package also re-enables Moto AI and installs TikTok without asking first. Those are not just cosmetic changes, because users who turned off Moto AI now have to deal with it again, and users who did not want TikTok on the device get it anyway.

Indian Razr 60 Ultra timing

Indian Razr 60 Ultra users had not yet received the update at the time of the report. If you own one of those phones, the practical step is to check the update prompt before trusting automatic behavior, especially if you want to avoid Moto AI coming back or TikTok being added again.
