Matthew Lamb says Meredith died at 14 in Instagram tribute

Matthew Lamb said on Instagram that his mother, Meredith, died on Saturday, Oct. 17, then used a Monday, Oct. 19 tribute to lay out the private loss behind his public work. The 14-year-old actor, known for playing Elliot Radovic in High Potential, wrote that the news still does not feel real.

“I'm not quite sure how to write this. As I'm sure many of you know, my mama passed away this Saturday. She was everything to me,” he wrote. Lamb added that Meredith “taught me school, she taught me empathy, she did everything for our family,” and said he will miss “telling her about my day, and talking to her and watching our favorite shows.”

Instagram Stories and support

Lamb also used Instagram Stories to thank people who reached out, writing, “I am so incredibly grateful for all of the support we have received” and “Even if I don't respond, please know how much it means to me.” That puts the post in a practical frame: he has made the loss public, but he is not turning every message into a reply chain.

The timing matters because Lamb had to share the news two days after Meredith died, while still processing it himself. He said, “This isn't something I ever thought I would have to do,” and added, “I'm not sure how we're going to get through this, but we're going to try.”

BAA remembers Meredith

The Broadway Artists Alliance said Meredith served as BAA's parent liaison and had been part of its community for the last six years. It said she transformed the community “in immeasurable ways,” called her the biggest champion for every student, staff member and parent, and said it is working with her family to honor her legacy moving forward.

BAA also said it plans scholarships in Meredith's name to help young artists pursue their dreams. That gives the response a concrete next step beyond condolences: support that reaches students through her name, while Lamb keeps balancing a public role on High Potential with a loss he says still does not feel real.
