Saints Quarterback clash in Paris set for new Steelers look as Sunday brings a one-off uniform combination

The Steelers will bring a fresh look to the NFL Paris Game on Sunday, when they face the New Orleans Saints in a one-off uniform combination in France. For a team that is used to routine road trips, this adds another layer to a Week 7 game already carrying plenty of significance.

The reason for the switch is straightforward: the Steelers are the road team, so they will wear white jerseys. But the full combination is still a notable change for a game being staged in Paris, a city described as a fashion mecca, and it gives the matchup against the New Orleans Saints a different feel from a standard regular-season visit.

A unique look for a unique setting

That was part of the appeal for Darnell Washington, who said he had been trying to picture the uniform before seeing it in full. “Just thinking about it, I was trying to imagine it,” he said. Once he saw it together, he felt the result was distinctive. “Now seeing it together, it's unique for us to wear. It's a little bit different, but I like it.”

Washington also linked the change to the setting itself. “We are playing in a different environment, so it's cool to mix and match. It's a look good, feel good, play good feeling.” At the same time, he made clear that his focus stays on the football rather than the fashion. “Me personally, I don't think much about what I am wearing. I just wear the same thing and go out and play.”

Herbig embraces the Paris stage

Nick Herbig was also photographed wearing the 2026 Paris game uniform during a photoshoot in Pittsburgh, PA on Thursday, Oct. 15, 2026, and he sounded enthusiastic about the finished product. “It's cool, and we're going to have to see it on game day,” he said. “But I'm a fan. I think it looks good.”

Herbig described the combination as a welcome twist for a major international occasion. “It's a little change-up, something different. Like they say, when in Rome, but we're going to be in Paris, so let's do it.” He added that the event carries wider meaning for the sport, saying, “Football is an evolving sport, and it's so awesome that we get a chance to go and show the world that this is the greatest sport, and why it's the greatest sport.”

For Herbig, the opportunity is about more than the uniform. “I'm super honored and blessed that I get to go out there and do it and get to put on a new uniform combination too.” With the Steelers playing overseas for the second year, Sunday offers another chance to make a statement in a setting that is very much out of the ordinary.
