The Texans activated Tank Dell to the active roster on Saturday, setting up his return to game action Sunday against the Giants for the first time in nearly two years.
Dell's long absence began in 2023, when his rookie season ended in Week 13 with a broken leg. He then suffered another major setback on Dec. 21, 2024, when he dislocated his kneecap and tore multiple knee ligaments in a game against the Chiefs.
That injury kept Dell out for the rest of that season, all of last season and the first six games of this season. His activation now gives the Texans another option in the receiver group after an extended stretch without him on the field.
More roster movement for Houston
Along with Dell, the Texans also moved Bryce Hall and Kenneth Murray up from the practice squad. The additions give Houston some extra roster flexibility as it heads into Sunday's game.
For Dell, the immediate significance is simple: after a long recovery process, he is finally positioned to play again. For the Texans, his return adds another familiar name back into the mix at a time when every healthy option matters.
