The New York Giants elevated Jalin Hyatt from the practice squad on Saturday as part of their roster moves ahead of Week 7 against the Houston Texans. It is a straightforward but important step, giving the Giants another receiver option for a road game that comes just before their bye week.
The timing matters. The Giants were set to play the Texans in Houston on Sunday, with the roster being adjusted the day before kickoff as the team managed its available options for the trip.
Giants make their Week 7 move
Hyatt’s elevation means he is available for the Giants and can be called upon if needed in a game that carries added importance because of what follows next. Following Sunday’s matchup in Houston, the Giants were scheduled to go on their bye week, so Saturday’s moves were about making sure the active group was as ready as possible.
That same roster context also included Paulson Adebo, who was designated for return from injured reserve on Wednesday and practiced in a limited capacity after being placed on IR on Sept. 18 with a knee issue. The Giants have had to manage their roster carefully across the week, and Hyatt’s elevation is part of that wider picture.
For Hyatt, the key point is simply availability. The Giants have made him part of the conversation for Week 7, and that adds depth to the receiver pool as they head into a difficult away matchup in Houston.
