Jagoba Arrasate previews Monday's Sevilla Vs Osasuna test at Estadio Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán

Jagoba Arrasate said Osasuna is readying for Monday’s La Liga trip to Sevilla at Estadio Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán, and he framed the match as an important test of whether last Sunday’s win can carry over into a road performance.

Osasuna beat Real Racing de Santander last Sunday, and Arrasate spoke to the media ahead of the visit to Sevilla on Monday at 9 p.m. CET, 8 p.m. GMT and 4 p.m. ET. For Osasuna, the matchup is less about celebrating the previous result and more about showing the same level away from home.

Arrasate wants consistency on the road

Arrasate said he is eager to see his team play against an opponent in strong form after a week of training and a positive result. He emphasized that he does not want to see a different Osasuna on the road, saying the team needs to step it up and try to produce another positive result.

He also stressed that winning does not mean the work is finished. According to Arrasate, Osasuna has studied its training sessions, watched film and identified areas that can improve. He said the team must keep working and cannot relax simply because it earned a victory.

That message extended beyond effort alone. Arrasate pointed to the back line, the attack and set pieces, saying Osasuna can improve in every part of the game. He noted that scoring two goals and creating more chances does not necessarily mean the team is creating enough, and he described the same standard for set pieces.

Why Sevilla presents a challenge

Arrasate also gave a clear read on Sevilla’s current form. He described them as organized, well coached and aggressive without the ball, adding that they win duels and do not allow opponents much possession. In his view, Sevilla know exactly what they want to do.

He pointed out that Sevilla’s three losses have all come against top teams. Outside of those matches, he said, the record looks more encouraging: four wins and two draws. That is why he treated the trip as a difficult one for Osasuna, not just another league fixture.

For Osasuna, the task is straightforward even if the setting is not. Arrasate wants the same team mentality that delivered the win over Real Racing de Santander, but he also wants a stronger version of it on the road. Monday’s match will show whether that message translates into another competitive result.
