FDA Class II Recall Hits 4.3 Million Tubes in Crayola Toothpaste Recall

More than 4.3 million tubes were pulled in the Crayola Toothpaste Recall after manufacturing problems triggered a nationwide voluntary action on Sept. 10. Pritam International Private Limited started the recall, and the products were later classified as Class II on Oct. 19.

The toothpaste was sold under Brush Buddies, Crayola, Hot Wheels and My Little Pony, along with evo, ARU and BB. Jonathan Lundy of Jacksonville reported the recall, and the product mix reached children’s brands as well as standard flavors.

The recalled tubes came in bubble gum, strawberry, watermelon, peppermint, sweet mint and cool mint flavors. They were distributed by Ashtel Studios Inc. of Ontario, California, in 3.5-ounce and 4-ounce tubes, plus two-packs of 3.5-ounce tubes.

Expiration dates ran from November 2026 through June 2028. For a shopper with one of these tubes in a bathroom cabinet or travel bag, the practical check is simple: match the brand, size, flavor, lot number and expiration date against the FDA recall notice before using it again.

FDA Class II on Oct. 19

The FDA said the recall could cause temporary or medically reversible health effects, which is why it was classified as Class II. The notice also said no illnesses or injuries were linked to the toothpaste.

That leaves the same narrow task for consumers: stop using any product that matches the notice and contact the retailer or manufacturer for return or refund information. The recall covers more than 4.3 million tubes, so the lot-number check is the part that separates an affected tube from one that is not.

Lot Numbers and Dates

Consumers still need the exact recall notice to sort out which tubes are included, because the affected products span several brands, sizes and expiration dates. The combination of brand name, package size and date is the only safe way to identify a tube before deciding whether to keep it or return it.

For anyone holding a Brush Buddies, Crayola, Hot Wheels and My Little Pony, evo, ARU or BB tube, the next step is not guessing from the color or flavor. It is checking the FDA notice, setting aside any match, and using the retailer or manufacturer contact path for returns or refunds.
