Jio Financial Share Price Gains 0.98% to Rs 207.24 Ahead of Jio Share Price Watch

Jio share price closed at Rs 207.24 on Tuesday, up 0.98% as trading turned toward the 28 Oct listing expected for Jio Platforms. The move mattered because Jio Financial Services is being tracked into that event, even though it is a separate company and any link to the listing is indirect.

The stock ended the session above its Rs 205.23 close from the same day’s earlier trade, while Reliance Industries finished at Rs 1,196.20, down 0.47%. For holders of Jio Financial Services, that left the market parsing a small rise in the share price against the backdrop of weaker Q2 FY27 earnings.

Jio Financial Services and Q2 FY27

Rs 340.44 crore was the net profit reported in Q2 FY27, down 51% from the year-earlier period. Dividend income was nil in the quarter versus Rs 269 crore a year earlier, and it was also nil against Rs 509 crore in Q1, while the share of associates and joint ventures swung to a loss of Rs 44 crore from a gain of Rs 217 crore.

Rs 42,007 crore of borrowings weighed on finance costs, with borrowings up about 250%. Motilal Oswal said profit came in about 27% below its estimate and cut FY27 earnings estimates, which helps explain why the stock had already fallen about 2.3% to 2.5% on 16 Oct after the results.

Jio Platforms IPO link is indirect

Rs 37,320 crore of gross AUM in the lending arm rose 154% in Q2 FY27, showing that loan growth continued even as earnings were under pressure. One source said total income rose 14% from Q1, while another data provider put revenue at Rs 1,699.41 crore, about 15% below the Q1 figure of Rs 2,004.54 crore; the gap between those numbers reflects a difference in definition.

79.31 times earnings, a return on equity of 1.32%, and an RSI of 34.06 leave the stock priced for more than one headline at a time. It sat about 2.8% below its 20-day average and roughly 2.0% above the lower SuperTrend band of Rs 203.16, so the market is still leaning on the same narrow technical range while waiting to see whether the Jio Platforms listing changes sentiment at all.

Will Jio Financial react

Rs 207.24 is the close that now matters for traders, because it shows Jio Financial Services firming into the listing date without any direct corporate tie to the issue itself. If the stock moves materially on 28 Oct, the read-through will be about how much group sentiment can move a separate balance sheet — not about ownership in Jio Platforms.
