Celtic vs Dundee United took centre stage in the Scottish Premiership on a busy night of league action, with the match at Celtic Park sitting alongside several other notable fixtures across Scotland.
The game was presented as a first-versus-fourth contest, giving it added significance in the title race and the wider chase at the top end of the table. The confirmed lineups showed both teams setting up with strong starting XIs for a meeting that carried clear weight in the standings.
Confirmed Celtic lineup
Celtic's lineup featured Johnstone, Donovan, Murray, Scales, Tierney, McGregor, Baur, Nygren, Duran, Osmand and Hogh.
Confirmed Dundee United lineup
Dundee United lined up with Walton, Rawlins, Esselink, Forbes, Ciubotara, Cameron, Tait, Iqbal, Randall, Sapsford and Farrugia.
Other Scottish Premiership fixtures
The same night also brought more league storylines, including Derek McInnes returning to Tynecastle for the first time since leaving Hearts in the summer. Elsewhere, bottom-of-the-table Hibs were still searching for their first points under Marink Reedijk, adding another layer to a crowded evening of Scottish Premiership action.
That broader schedule meant Celtic vs Dundee United was only part of a full night for fans following the division, but the match at Celtic Park stood out because of both the table position and the quality of the teams involved.
