President Donald Trump is scheduled to visit Chillicothe, Ohio, on Wednesday for a rally with candidates, his third stop in Ohio since Labor Day. The visit comes with less than one week left before the midterm elections on Tuesday, Nov. 3.
Ohio races draw Trump
The trip lands in a state where the governor's race, the Senate race and several House contests are drawing attention. In Ohio's 7th Congressional District, embattled Republican Rep. Max Miller is seeking reelection while denying domestic abuse allegations made by his ex-wife, the daughter of Ohio Republican Sen. Bernie Moreno.
Republican Sen. Jon Husted is also facing a tough reelection bid against former Democratic Sen. Sherrod Brown. Those contests give Trump's Chillicothe appearance a direct connection to races that could help determine control of the House and Senate.
Amy Acton ad dispute
The governor's race has also turned into a separate point of friction. Vivek Ramaswamy's ad features the estranged mother of Democratic candidate Amy Acton, and Trump has praised the ad while indicating he believes Ramaswamy should keep it running despite bipartisan backlash.
That makes Chillicothe part of a broader closing stretch in Ohio, where Trump is appearing with candidates as campaigns push into the final days before Election Day. The rally adds another stop to a state already carrying multiple competitive races at once, and it keeps attention on which candidates share the stage with him on Wednesday.
