Law & Order: Special Victims Unit Arcana puts a clairvoyant’s account of a nighttime assault at the center of season 28 episode four, and Capt. Curry has to work past skepticism to get anywhere near the truth. The hour leans into Halloween atmosphere without abandoning the procedural engine that keeps SVU moving.
On Thursday, Oct. 29, the squad-room conversation turns supernatural fast. Det. Amanda Rollins says she once went to a palm reader who told her she would one day have three children, and Curry cuts in with “a lucky guess.” Rollins answers that “but there are some things out there without an explanation.”
Rollins and Griffin on ghosts
Griffin adds his own story from a Saturday morning when he was the only one awake in his house. “It was a Saturday morning. I was the only one awake in my house. I look at the end of the hall, there's a beautiful woman there. Don't smile!” he says, before adding, “A beautiful woman, and she waved at me — and then she was gone.”
Tutuola shuts the door on the paranormal explanation: “I mean all I'm saying is there's no ghosts, there's no poltergeists,” he says, then pivots into a joke that fits the room’s mood: “It's just us! Us and the aliens!” That back-and-forth gives Arcana its odd shape, with Rollins and Griffin describing unexplained encounters while Tutuola refuses to let the case drift away from logic.
Curry and the NBC logline
NBC’s logline keeps the focus on the investigation, not the campfire chatter. It says the clairvoyant’s account raises more questions than answers, that Curry must put skepticism aside to uncover the truth, and that the squad’s work reveals a long-buried secret that has haunted one family for generations.
The episode is scheduled for Thursday at 9 p.m. on NBC and will stream on Peacock the following day. For a Halloween installment, that release pattern does the job: the supernatural talk may carry the teaser, but the real payoff is whether Curry treats the psychic claim as noise or as a lead worth following.
Peacock the following day
Arcana fits the kind of SVU episode that uses a strange premise to pressure-test the squad’s instincts. The clairvoyant frame gives the hour a hook, but the family secret is what turns it back into a case file, and that is where the story should land for anyone watching on NBC or catching it on Peacock the next day.
