Riley Green says dating is tough amid The Voice and touring — Riley Green Sexiest Man Alive

Riley Green sexiest man alive is not spending much time dating. He said his schedule has become so demanding that he can barely make his lifestyle work while he handles music, television, touring and acting.

He laid it out plainly: “I struggle to think there's a girl that's … I can barely make this lifestyle work,” and added, “I think that's probably a battle for anybody that's in a demanding position, just a career where you're on the road 200-plus days a year.” That is the business reality behind the personal update. Green is releasing a new album, touring, making his acting debut on Marshals and serving as a coach on The Voice.

L.A. every day

“I was busy before I started filming The Voice. Now I'm in L.A. every day,” Green said, putting the pressure in concrete terms. He is not describing a temporary stretch of work; he is describing a schedule that now stacks television production on top of the rest of his career.

The practical effect is simple. When a performer is moving between recording, travel, filming and coaching duties, ordinary dating routines become harder to maintain. Green said his lifestyle has got to change a little bit, and that is the part of the story that matters here: he is not just busy, he is living at a pace that leaves little room for the normal version of a personal life.

Joe, Carl and family

Green said he still hopes to settle down one day. “Yeah, I mean, if I like my son near as much as I like my nephew Joe, I think we'll get along great,” he said, tying that hope to the family relationships that keep him grounded.

He also said, “But I haven't seen Carl, my dog, in a month. … So my lifestyle has got to change a little bit.” That detail says more than a general dating comment does. If he has not had the time to see Carl, the current pace is crowding out even the smallest parts of home life.

The Voice, Season 30

Green said his family helps him keep the schedule bearable. “I get to FaceTime my nephew and see what he's doing and watch him play sports and catch up with my family,” he said. “We're all still really close. They make it bearable in a pretty hectic lifestyle right now.”

He also showed what kind of date he would actually want to make time for: “If I could find a drive-in, wouldn't that be cool? I'm sure they still have them,” he said. “Maybe a steak somewhere and a drive-in to watch an old movie.” That is the clearest sign of where things stand now — he is still thinking about settling down, but his calendar has to loosen before that plan can. On The Voice, Season 30, the bigger story is not romance for its own sake; it is whether Green can keep balancing a television seat at 8/7c with the rest of the career that already fills his week.
