Linfield came within inches of adding to their lead at Windsor Park, but Dungannon Swifts quickly replied with a chance of their own in a brief spell that kept the Irish Premiership contest finely balanced.
The best opening for Linfield came when Kyle McClean delivered a free-kick and Adam Frizzell met it with a header towards goal. Ben Hall was alert to the danger, diverting the effort narrowly wide of the far post before Linfield could celebrate a second goal.
Junior goes close for Dungannon Swifts
At the other end, Dungannon showed they were still very much in the contest. Junior rose to meet a corner and headed just wide of the post, a reminder that Linfield could not afford to switch off after nearly extending their advantage.
The sequence summed up a sharp passage of play: one side pushing to strengthen its grip on the match, the other looking for an immediate response. For both Linfield and Dungannon Swifts, the moments underlined how little separated them in that phase of the game.
