Naz Reid continued his strong early-season form on Saturday night, scoring 23 points and pulling down nine rebounds in a 115-110 win over the Heat. He was also efficient from the field, finishing 9-for-16 overall and 5-for-8 from 3-point range while adding two blocks.
That kind of line is exactly why Reid has become such an important early-season contributor for a revamped Hornets starting five. He was close to a double-double again, and the production came in a game that stayed tight right through to the finish.
Reid has started the season with steady production
The Saturday performance was not an isolated burst. Through the first three contests of the season, Reid has scored 17 or more points and grabbed six or more rebounds in every game.
Over that span, he has averaged 20.0 points and 8.7 rebounds per game while carrying a 25.6% usage rate. Those numbers show both volume and responsibility, with Reid already handling a major share of the Hornets' offense.
Why this matters for the Hornets
For a team still settling into its new shape, Reid's consistency has been one of the clearest positives. He is giving the Hornets reliable scoring, board work and rim protection, and the signs suggest he is comfortable with the role he has been asked to play.
The next test is whether he can keep that level going as the season develops. So far, the early evidence is that Reid has been one of the most dependable pieces in the Hornets' rotation.
