Emilie Ullerup leads A Danish Christmas, which premieres Sunday, November 1 at 8/7c on Hallmark Channel. The film then moves to Hallmark+ on Monday, November 2, giving viewers two ways to catch the holiday release in two consecutive days.
Copenhagen and Chicago
Ullerup plays Marie, a hotel tech executive living in Chicago who heads back to Copenhagen for the holidays. That setup gives the movie a clear operational hook: a homecoming story that ties the premiere to a specific place, a specific date, and a built-in audience for Countdown to Christmas.
The cast also pairs Ullerup with Corey Sevier. Ullerup attended film school in Vancouver, Canada, which adds a useful layer to her return to a Danish-set story that was filmed on location in Copenhagen, Denmark.
Linda Corolei on Denmark
Linda Corolei said, “From the start, I knew we had to film in Denmark in December. You simply can't recreate the magic of Christmas in Copenhagen especially when the lights, decorations, and atmosphere are so special. As a first-time Hallmark producer telling a story about my home country, I wanted to make sure we captured it authentically. After all, how often do you get the chance to make a Danish Christmas movie?”
That choice keeps the production aligned with the setting instead of treating Copenhagen as a backdrop in name only. For Hallmark, that gives the movie a sharper holiday identity inside Countdown to Christmas, where location has become part of the selling point.
Marie and Ryan Miller
Marie tries to create a perfect Danish Christmas tour and experience, but the story gives her a practical deadline: her mother plans to sell the inn after the New Year. A positive story could help boost business and persuade her mother to keep it, so the film is built around timing as much as romance.
Ryan Miller checks in, and a case of mistaken identity leads Marie to believe he is a travel writer. That complication gives the movie its friction; warmth, connection, and romance cannot simply be staged on command, even in a holiday title built around Copenhagen, family, and seasonal branding.
Sunday, November 1 is the only date viewers need to remember first. Watch it on Hallmark Channel at 8/7c, then move to Hallmark+ the next day if you want the stream version, because this is one of those holiday releases where the premiere window is part of the pitch.
