Jamar Hebert backs Zachary Mardi Gras 2027 return

Zachary Mardi Gras will return for Mardi Gras 2027 with its second annual parade on Sunday, Feb. 7, 2027. The event is being built as a repeat community parade in Zachary, with music, culture and community at the center of the plan.

Jamar Hebert said, "When we launched Zachary Mardi Gras, our vision was to create something special that would bring our community together and establish a tradition families could enjoy for generations," Hebert said. "The overwhelming support and excitement we received during our inaugural celebration exceeded our expectations. As we prepare for 2027, we're building on that success and looking forward to bringing our community together for an even bigger and better celebration," Hebert said.

City of Zachary support

Our Beloved Community United will present the event with the City of Zachary and the Zachary Police Department. That lineup puts the parade inside a broader civic structure, not just a one-day celebration, and it opens the door for local organizations, businesses, schools and marching bands to join the route.

Vendors, volunteers and corporate sponsors can also take part. For a second-year parade, that mix matters because it shows the event is designed to function as both a public gathering and a platform for local business participation, rather than a purely ceremonial return.

One City, Many Sounds

The 2027 theme is Let the Good Times Roll: One City. Many Sounds. One Rhythm. Read literally, it signals a parade built around variety rather than a single performance lane, with the theme broad enough to accommodate bands, community groups and vendors without forcing the event into one format.

The release says the parade will focus on music, culture and community, and that wording points to the main operational shift for readers: this is not a one-off debut being repeated on the same terms, but a planned second annual event with more room for participation across Zachary.

2026 debut, 2027 scale

The event will build on Zachary Mardi Gras' 2026 debut, but the release does not give attendance numbers, funding figures or route details to show how much larger this edition might be. Jamar Hebert's pitch is clear; the measurable proof of growth is not in the announcement yet.

For residents, the useful takeaway is simple: the date is set, the presenters are named, and the call for community participation is already open in principle. If the parade grows the way Hebert describes, the real test will be whether the second annual run turns those promises into a larger lineup of groups, sponsors and volunteers on Feb. 7, 2027.
