That run has Thompson sitting on 17 points and 10 goals over 14 games, giving Buffalo another in-form scorer to pair with Batherson’s recent production. With both players carrying momentum, Senators and Sabres enters as a regular-season matchup with a little more offensive intrigue than usual.

The Senators come in at 9-6-1, while the Sabres are 7-4-3. Ottawa has collected 21 points, and Buffalo has 17, which adds a little more weight to a game that already has two clear individual storylines attached to it.
For the Senators, Batherson’s streak is the obvious headline. For the Sabres, Thompson’s recent scoring burst is the main reason to watch. That combination makes this a game worth following beyond the standings alone.
